You haven't answered David's question, nor have you given us anything to go on. What is your host operating system? What is your guest operating system? How did you originally set up your guest - differencing disks or some other method? I've been using VPC for almost 6 years now and haven't had any problems. This doesn't fix your problem, but we might be able to help you if you give us a hand. GP

If not, select it in the VPC console, click the Settings button and make sure that it can still "see" its virtual disk(s)... Might they have been moved and/or deleted...? -- Mark Rae ASP.NET MVP http://www.markrae.net

Second, are you sure that the VM is not running on a different user account? It seems quite odd that the date stamps for the .vmc and .vsv files are for the same date/time you posted. What happens if you do a DIR of the folder now? Are the dates updated to the current time again? What happens when you click Ok on the error message? Have you tried rebooting the PC and then launching the the VM? Finally, VPC isn't a flaky app, you've encountered a problem, granted, the root cause is yet to be determined. I don't think you'll find any software with a perfect 100% track record. I doubt there's such a Windows app, there are too many combinations of hardware, software and various configurations to guarantee anything 100% of the time. -- Cheers, Steve Jain, Virtual Machine MVP http://vpc.essjae.com/ |
