From: Chris Byron on 29 Apr 2008 13:08 Hi, Can anybody help me out with this one, we have an SBS2003 server which has been working well for years and we haven't made any recent changes. The problem is we have one customer that receives an NDR when sending mail to a valid user on our SBS, this is the NDR he gets. The strange thing is the SBS user receives external mail from everybody else and can even send mail to the user that is getting the NDR. Any ideas on what I should be looking for? The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address. < c2bthomr10.btconnect.com #5.1.1 SMTP; 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay
From: Teneo on 29 Apr 2008 14:46 Hi Chris, It isn't your problem. Your client needs to resolve with BT. Assuming their ISP is BT, they maybe sending DNS or using smart host and their domain is not authorised. They may argue never had a problem before but doesn't matter as BT may have only just caught up with their domain name. http://btbusiness.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/btbusiness.cfg/php/enduser/cci/bt_adp.php?p_sid=FcyxJu2j&cat_lvl1=368&cat_lvl2=383&cat_lvl3=1193&cat_lvl4=1211&cat_lvl5=1242&p_cv=5.1242&p_cats=368,383,1193,1211,1242&p_faqid=9 Also will help if they also setup rDNS too. http://btbusiness.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/btbusiness.cfg/php/enduser/cci/bt_adp.php?p_sid=FcyxJu2j&cat_lvl1=368&cat_lvl2=953&cat_lvl3=1212&cat_lvl4=1217&p_cv=4.1217&p_cats=368,953,1212,1217&p_faqid=8763 "Chris Byron" <ChrisByron(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:C5F47998-4EB1-40A1-B438-37A3205DEFF6(a)microsoft.com... > Hi, > > Can anybody help me out with this one, we have an SBS2003 server which has > been working well for years and we haven't made any recent changes. > > The problem is we have one customer that receives an NDR when sending mail > to a valid user on our SBS, this is the NDR he gets.
