From: macropod on 25 Mar 2010 20:53 Hi sbr4tdy, What file format - doc/docx? Is this on your HDD or a USB stick? Do you have backups - if not, why not? -- Cheers macropod [Microsoft MVP - Word] "sbr4tdy" <sbr4tdy(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:BC213F22-5D4B-4E07-86A4-8AC6048B839B(a)microsoft.com... > Hours of work - it will not open. From: Graham Mayor on 26 Mar 2010 02:09 This is why we recommend never saving directly to removable media. Always save to the hard drive and COPY to the removable media - there's a macro to facilitate that at http://www.gmayor.com/automatically_backup.htm :(. Can you copy the file to your hard drive? If not you *may* be able to recover the file with file recovery software. Just in case you need to go down the File Recovery process - don't change *anything* on the USB stick - especially don't add any files to it or change any others on it. -- Cheers macropod [Microsoft MVP - Word] "Graham Mayor" <gmayor(a)REMOVETHISmvps.org> wrote in message news:O4CYnrKzKHA.6140(a)TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > This is why we recommend never saving directly to removable media.
