No, just experience. If you log-in using an administrator account and run it
"manually" then does it work? I've had problems when a backup would work
when run directly but not when run via the scheduler.

Well it totally sucks if that is the case. I would have expected free space
to be the deciding factor not the partition size. 60GB of data logically
ought to backup to your 500GB drive. Thinking about it, all the backups I do
are to larger drives than the partition I'm backing up. That said, I
wouldn't have expected this from preventing you from scheduling the backup -
just running it. So I'm not sure that this is the right road to be going
down - anyone reading this with more experience?

If you go this route then I'd advise against shrinking your C drive. Okay
750GB is overly generous, but (backup aside) it shouldn't hurt.

I should have added: does the backup run okay if you run it from the command
line and forget about scheduling? So is it "just" the scheduling side which
doesn't work?

I tried another backup app which is also backing up the whole partition, not
just the data part. so I just ordered a 1.5TB drive for backup purpose. I
thought about shrinking the drive, but with all the cheap HDD available, it
really does not give me much diference. So I decided to keep it that way.
Hopefully, this 1.5TB will do what I want it to do. otherwise my wall will
add another hole!

"does the backup run okay if you run it from the command
line"??? How can I do this?
