From: ecfisher on 1 Jul 2007 17:28 When I checked START-CONTROL PANEL-AUTOMATIC UPDATES I found it to be turned off and the entire window was greyed out so I could not change any settings. I'm using Windows XP Pro SP2. I can go to the web site and manually download updates but would like to activate the automatic service. Anyone have any suggestions?
From: PA Bear on 1 Jul 2007 17:33 What does [Start > Settings > Control Panel >] Security Center report for the status of (1) anti-virus and (2) firewall? Is this your own, personal machine or one belonging to your employer? -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) AumHa VSOP & Admin; DTS-L.org ecfisher wrote: > When I checked START-CONTROL PANEL-AUTOMATIC UPDATES I found it to be > turned off and the entire window was greyed out so I could not change any > settings. From: ecfisher on 1 Jul 2007 18:02 Anti-Virus is on and working (Norton 360), Windows Firewall is on. This is my own personal machine (Dell Inspiron 8600).
