I would like to change the date on a single footer on a single page in a
chapter of one of our publications. All of our chapters are saved as
individual files. This is so we can reflect a revision on that page without
changing the dates on all the footers on all the pages in the chapter. When I
change the date now, it changes on all of the footers. Any help is
appreciated. Thank you.

Unless the page you want to change happens to be the first page of a
section (or the section it's in has no more than three pages), you'll
need to make it a section of its own.

Thank you for your response. What do you mean by "section"? Can I make
multiple "sections" within the same Word file? If so, how can I do this? I
appreciate your help.

You create a section by inserting a section break. What version of
Word are you using?

You can have as many as you want.

Each section has its own set of headers and footers, and within each
section, the first page can have different ones, and the odd and even
pages can have ones different from each other.

I am using Word 2003. I figured out how to manipulate the sections to get
what I want - thanks to your help!
