Your help is greatly appreciated.
From: Richard K on 16 Jun 2010 11:36 When you hit the "connect" and are prompted for a user name and password in the wizard are you using an account that a "network administrator" or the actual user's account (probably a "standard user")? Make sure you use an account that the SBS defines as a "network administrator" "Damien" <Damien(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:D18DA37A-3E91-4550-BF71-204301C2E774(a)microsoft.com... > hi all, > I have tried to join domain on client (both XP and Win7) using > http://connect/ > I have encounter the following error "Please log in as a windows SBS > administrator..." > > -Users are created using the console > -Admin have the require level of rights > > Anyone could shed some light on this issue? Hello Damien, Thanks for your post and Richard's input. Do you mean the same issue occurs to all workstations including both Windows XP and Windows 7 when using http://connect/ to join them to domain? If so, please try Richard's suggestion to "Make sure you use an account that the SBS defines as a "network administrator" , the default built-in administrator is disabled after SBS 2008 server is completely installed. Go to SBS console , then Users, use an account with User Role of "Network Administrator" to join these workstation to SBS domain. BTW, here is an article about Using Windows 7 BETA With SBS 2008 just for your reference. Using Windows 7 BETA With SBS 2008 http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/archive/2009/02/06/using-windows-7-beta-with-sbs-2008.aspx Hope this helps.
