Thanks! I depend on that on my XP computer, and I've been missing it on my Windows 7 machine. I knew there had to be a way of having that choice available on the context menu, but I hadn't found it yet.
From: Bob Donald on 25 Mar 2010 12:32 Thanks Glennbo, Nice catch! I just got my legit copies of w7 64 bit monday and did the final install yesterday on the core i7. The past couple of weeks I've just been playing around in the gui and the command prompt hasnt crossed my path yet, but I know it will soon. This will save me the aggrevation. That's not the same thing. Glennbo is talking about having a "Command prompt here" choice on the context menu when you right-click on any folder in Windows Explorer. That was never an option with any earlier version of Windows, although there was a well-known registry hack to put it there. In Windows 7, you can get it by holding the Shift key when you right-click, but with this hack, you can make it always accessible, no shift key needed.
From: Phoenix on 25 Mar 2010 13:12 Interesting. I'd been using cmd from the start menu or a shortcut. Haven't needed "open command prompt here " yet but it's good to know.
