Sata Drive Problem - Southbridge is VIA VT82237. Spot on thanks Fred, the southbridge chip is a VT8237 according to the MB manual, on an Albatron K8X800 socket 754 motherboard. So apparently as you say it can't support auto speed recognition, and the Hitachi Deskstar HDT725032LVA360 model drive has no jumpers at all. HDD - DMA Error Can't read a HDD. The computer was shut down by a power failure and would not reboot. Replaced the HDD and a new system the computer is OK. The old HDD has a problem.
