I use Word 2000. I have a Toolbar.dot that starts up when Word starts. When I
start Word, the Control Toolbox toolbar is not shown or checked. However,
when I open a particular file, the Control Toolbox toolbar is shown, and
although I uncheck it, it shows up next time I open the file in question.

I do not know where to go to make sure the toolbar does not show up anymore.
Grateful for help.

Regards,

Hans L

This is a sign that the document in question contains ActiveX controls and
therefore opens in Design mode.

If the document is meant to be a form, it would be better to make use of
form fields only.
