Much controversy arose from this, some people denied that it was a problem, but I believe that something was done about it in the end. i

I remember seeing something about this but it was around the time of the release of 9.04... And... here we go: <http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14354> <https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/317781> Both of these have been closed and reported as fixed (prior to 9.04's release). Is there something else? Comments? Reason I ask is we're looking to deploy ext4 on our desktops come 10.04... tia, -- -Craig

Is there something else? Comments? Reason I ask is we're > looking to deploy ext4 on our desktops come 10.04... The main reason for those zero sized files is OS crashes or loss of power. It affects laptops more than desktops. All in all, I would think that if this issue remained in it's original form, I would hear a lot more complaints than I do. ext3 is a great filesystem and I cannot see how you would be harmed if you stayed on ext3. i
