From: Becky on 2 Jun 2010 08:22 We are having the same problem. Windows XP, SP2, Excel 2007, dual monitors, multiple sessions of Excel. We can copy and paste several times from one spreadsheet to another, then get the exact same issue as Mat explained. This happened to 3 of us in the office....we have been doing this process for months and all of the sudden yesterday, all 3 of us got the error and our spreadsheet(s) corrupted....several hours of work, gone. Any ideas would be appreciated. Mat wrote: Corrupt excel - copy paste between instances 11-Mar-09 Hello, we recnetly upgraded to excel 2007 and found that there is some error when you copy and paste data between spreadsheets in two instances: The first time you copy and paste, no problem The second time you copy and paste, the paste area gets selected, but no data gets put into the cells Then you save and close the workbook When you go to open it, the following message: Excel found unreadable content in 'MyExcelDocument.xlsx', Do you want to recover the contents of this workbook? If you trust the source of this workbook, click Yes. Clicking no will stop everything, clicking Yes will bring up a further error message box with Repais to ''MyExcelDocument.xlsx' Excel was able to open the file by repairing or removing the unreadable contnet. Removed records: Style from /xl/styles.xml part (Styles) Removed Records: Format from /xl/styles.xml part (Styles) The spreadsheet opens with no formatting. This doesn't seem to happen when copying/pasting within one instance, but that is not feasible for our users. This was not a problem in 2003. Does anybody have a solution? We applied all service packs and patches, but nothing seems to help. From: Jim Cone on 2 Jun 2010 08:58 xl2007 tends to create and add styles to a workbook as a result of copying and pasting between workbooks. Reports of thousands of unnecessary styles in xl2007 workbooks have been posted. That many styles can make a workbook unmanageable. Take a look at your list of styles and if you have an excessive amount then remove them. See... http://www.mediafire.com/PrimitiveSoftware Look under the "Free" folder for the "Formats & Styles" add-in download. It can list or remove all unused styles in a workbook. -- Jim Cone Portland, Oregon USA Review: http://www.contextures.com/excel-sort-addin.html <Becky Jones> wrote in message news:2010628223becky.jones(a)telventdtn.com...
