The thread started by Bradfield has turned somewhat. It now raises the
issue squarely enough of the legal effect of the usual Microsoft licence on
software where the software is bought at retail. It's quite an important
issue where many people are uncertain about the law.

One poster, a certain Rod Speed, has certain strong views about that, and
