From: rfdjr1 on 8 Apr 2010 23:01 Upon purchasing a new digital camera, I received a copy of Paint Shop Pro Photo X2. I've been using PSP 8 for a long time. I also have PSP Pro X whic I bought a while back but never used, as I didn't want to try and learn anything new, though there may not be much new in PSP Pro X over PSP 8. So now my question is how much of an upgrade to both of those is Pro Photo X2, if at all? I now have the to learn a new program/interface and I want to know if it's worth it? Thanks.

X2 has a Colour changer. Sort of like the paint bucket with a Magic wand. It also has Layer styles which are like adding effects but in the styles pallet. Drop shadow and emboss are much easily done in the normal way But Reflection is good. Since Corel took over all there devolpment has gone into producing Organizers that don't organize Some say that ( was best as that was the last to use a browser I have not worried about it Until X3. Of which I have found the orgenizer to be slow and worthless and reverted to using windows explorer as my Browser. Oh and I forgot Corels Biggest feature in X2 "The Graphite Workspace" its Graphite.

Oh and I forgot Corels Biggest feature in X2 > "The Graphite Workspace" its Graphite. For: rfdjr1(a)optonline.net I had PSP 8, still do at work, and it is a very good program. Problem is it is the Jarsc (?) original version with no support or updates. Corel bought out PSP and published PSP Pro Photo X2 and gives full support. Note, there is a newer version at their site, PSP Pro Photo X3, if you want to spend the $69.99 (Upgrade). At home, I updated to PSP Pro Photo X2 and the learning-curve was very low. It is much like PSP 8. It IS better for camera photos for all the reasons in Trev's reply. -- ======== Tecknomage ======== Computer Systems Specialist IT Technician San Diego, CA
