From: Dan on 22 May 2010 03:17 I've been searching Google for a paritcular type of service and I must be doing something wrong because I'm not locating the resources that I'm searching for or maybe they just don't exist at this point so I'm asking for help from the community and hoping that there are some really knowledgeable folks here that can provide me with the info I seek. I'm attempting to locate a cloud-based/hosted/SaaS Terminal Services or Ctrix service that will allow my company to move our applications and data to the web. The company is quite small at this point (5 users) and we plan to essentially establish a virtual office instead of a physical one so we would need the ability to work from just about any location with several different productivity and accounting-based applications (i.e. MS Office, several versions of Quickbooks, ProSystem fx, etc). Our requirements are speed (duh) and multiple monitor support. I realize that speed is dependent on a lot of factors but we don't want the host to be the bottleneck here. As I understand it, Windows Server 2008 R2 provides multi-monitor capability but to what degree I'm unsure. I don't have enough knowledge at this point to know whether or not Citrix provides the same capability. At any rate, I'm looking for advice in locating a company that can provide these services with data backup and security at an enterprise level. Essentially what I envision is the ability to connect to this virtual environment and create user accounts for our company. Following that either the host or myself would install the applications that all users will need to access. At this point they would be able to access the Terminal Server (or Citrix if applicable) from their home PCs with multiple monitors and work just as if they were sitting in a physical office. Does this capability exist or are we dreaming and if so, can you point me in the right direction in terms of well established companies that provide this type of service? Thank you for your time and asstance, Dan |
