Create Mailbox Exchange Task Fails

Had an existing user in AD that I wish to create a mailbox for, so used Exchange Tasks - Create Mailbox. That failed, so I asked for a detailed report: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="unicode" ?> - <taskWizardRun taskName="Create Mailbox" dcName="DC1" buildNumber="7638" runningAs=administrator(a)DOMAIN.COM> <timespan startTime="2006-08-28 12:20:08.216" milliseconds="1297" /> - <createMailbox> <database>/dc=com/dc=domain/cn=Configuration/cn=Services/cn=Microsoft Exchange/cn=DOMAIN/cn=Administrative Groups/cn=First Administrative Group/cn=Servers/cn=MAIL1/cn=InformationStore/cn=First Storage Group/cn=Mailbox Store (MAIL1)</database> </createMailbox> <taskSummary errorCount="1" completedCount="0" warningCount="0" errorCode="0x00000000" /> - <items> - <item adsPath=LDAP://dc1.domain.com/CN=newuser,CN=Users,DC=domain,DC=com class="user"> <progress code="60" milliseconds="1281">Updating attributes</progress> <summary isWarning="false" errorCode="0x8007203a">The server is not operational.</summary> </item> </items> </taskWizardRun> Googled for that, but the responses were related to 5.5. Deleted the user account and re-created it. In the Create User dialog, said I wanted to create an Exchange Mailbox, got this error: The server is not operational. Facility: Win32 ID no. 8007203a Microsoft Active Directory - Exchange Extension Googled for that. Saw something about DNS. Checked the DNS settings. All OK. Ran NLTEST. OK result. Ran NETDIAG. Passed tests. Started LDP. Was able to connect, bind and search for the DN. Ran ADSI. Checked the "newuser" container. msExch properties are there. Can anyone help with this?
From: Pierre H on 28 Aug 2006 12:44 I am facing exactly the same issue with my Exchange 2003. If I wait till the next day I am able to create the exchange mailbox for the new user or the SMTP address for a new contact. My setup is as follows: exchange 2k3 in the DMZ of the PIX firewall and the 2K DC in the internal LAN. Other than that things are runnign smooth. Can anybody help? Thanks.
