Still more experimenting with Win7. I have some shortcuts that I use to copy
files. They're just batch files. On XP I had the shortcuts on the task bar.

However, in Win7 after creating them and having them sitting on the desktop,
when I dragged them to pin them to the taskbar they wouldn't "stick". The red
"bar" symbol that represents a no go (round with a diagonal line through it)
appears in the transparent icon as it hovers over the taskbar.

So, for some reason, these two shortcuts won't stick. Are there any tips on
getting them to work? I currently just double click on them from the desktop.

How about right clicking the icon, then selecting "Pin to Taskbar"?

Doing it the way you suggested works for me in Win 7 32-bit anyway.

There is a complicated workaround to be able to pin .bat files to the
taskbar in Seven.
Probably easier to compile them though with a free tool like bat to exe
converter.
http://download.cnet.com/Bat-To-Exe-Converter/3000-2069_4-10555897.html
And drag the resultant .exe to the taskbar.

Oh, I forgot the OP was talking about .bat files. The ones I tried were
..exe files.
