I was looking for a good USB soundcard to convert my Asus WL500gP V2 into
the wireless audio player.

I have decided to buy the Sound Blaster Play! card. It appeared to be Linux
compatible, and provides very good sound (really better, than I could expect
from the USB only powered device).
