We added a few w2k8 R2 domain controllers into existing w2k3 domain. After
that we are starting getting problems related to DCOM with multiple
applications. Even Windows 2003. For example, set MSDTC startup to manul
but got started after reboot. Check the service nothing depends on it. For
applications the problems are different. Some can be fixed by a few reboot.
I guess it depends which DC (w2k3 or w2k8) was used for authentication.

Has any one run into such problem? Is it due to security changes in w2k8?
How to fix it?

Thanks.

Hello chris,

Please post the complete event viewer entry here. Just DCOM isn't enough
information.

Almost any process that utilizes distributed transactions will start that
service.
