From: Stephen Ford on 22 Feb 2010 17:56 I have received an attachment which the sender says is a word 2007 document. It has a ".docx" extension. My word 2003 starts a File Conversion app but I can't find a setting that makes the document readable. What should the sender do to give me a document that is readable by Word 2003 without file conversion issues?
From: garfield-n-odie on 22 Feb 2010 18:07 If you haven't already done so, you should download and install the the free Office 2007 compatibility pack from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=941b3470-3ae9-4aee-8f43-c6bb74cd1466 .. From: Yves Dhondt on 22 Feb 2010 18:27 Although you really should install the converter pack, you could ask the sender to save the document as 'Word 97-2003 Document' which (s)he can find in the 'Save As' menu. I tried it , works great, but also downloaded NativeWindsDocx2Rtf ver 3.8 from http://www.nativewindsofmontana.com it will also run on Win98 OS |
