From: Brennan Bonnet on 9 Jun 2010 12:50 Hi All, I just obtained a Silicon Graphics O2 Unix workstation from 1996. I want to use it for 3D modelling of protein crystals using "Crystal Eyes Stereographics". Through my research I have discovered that this old unit should (supposedly) run Debian 4.0 "Etch". Has anyone had any prior experience with these machines who could verify this or give me any advice? Thanks, ~Brennan~

Hi Brennan (2010.06.09_18:38:29_+0200) > Has anyone had any prior experience with these machines who could > verify this or give me any advice? Yes, I installed Debian on one a few months ago. Follow the netinstall instructions out there. Lenny should run on it, but there is a problem with the bootloader in squeeze. Haven't looked into that yet. You can upgrade to squeeze but can't reboot afterwards.
