From: "Werner "Menneisyys" Ruotsalainen [MVP - Windows - Mobile Devices]" on 17 Jul 2008 09:49 It's because of the hardware that the x50v / iPAQ hx4700 has a much worse time running the factory WM5 than the x51v. (The cooked 6.1 ROM's are far better in this respect - at least on the hx4700. Haven't checked it on the x50v.) -- -- Werner "Menneisyys" Ruotsalainen - Microsoft MVP - Windows - Mobile Devices Please see the Pocket PC Mag Expert Blog (including mine) at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/ - you will definitely like it. From: Chris De Herrera on 22 Jul 2008 16:17 Hi, Officially all roms not released from the OEM are not supported from the OEM (like Dell) or Microsoft. If you choose to use these roms you do so at your own risk. Your device may be damaged. -- Chris De Herrera http://www.pocketpcfaq.com http://www.pocketpctalk.com http://www.tabletpctalk.com http://www.mobilitytalk.com "john" <john(a)msn.com> wrote in message news:uWeeTF05IHA.4852(a)TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > > "JBradshaw" <jbradsha(a)dphilneas.nnn> wrote in message > news:duSdnYTCKurwguDVnZ2dnUVZ_r7inZ2d(a)posted.internetamerica... >> Just called Dell to see if they offered an upgrade from WM5 to WM6. Yep, that's where the link take you. He's since released an A08 but there seems to be some old problems that have resurfaced in it. A07 has been flawless for me. The best thing about Football's ROMs is they are as close as possible to what Dell might have released had they not abandoned the Axims. IOW, no third party add-on garbage like all the other ROMs floating around out there.
