Hello,

Can anybody explain me the difference between Client Server
Architecture and Mainframes. Since both have dumb terminals and a
server.

Thanks.

A valid question, though hard to answer.
First of all, a client-server architecture does not use dumb terminals. the
application is split up between client and server (hence the name). Typically
the client logic is running on PC's (smart terminal) and the database engine
runs on the server.
In the mainframe world, both the client software and the database runs on
the same frame, and the users would not use a PC be a dumb terminal to
connect to the mainframe. (or an emulator running on a PC)

maybe you should read this,
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnsqlpro2k/html/sql00b15.asp

hopefully this will clear things up a little
