I presume you are using the bridge rectifier to reheat that cup of
coffee.

Why, yes..cough...cough...

In reality, I'm using it to cool the diodes. They don't much like
rectifying 120 volts at five amps. The liquid used to be clear, virgin
Canola oil, but Archie besmirched it's reputation in the most vulgar
display of hedonism I've ever seen. Claimed he was checking viscosity.

The oil must be a good insulator. There's been no bubbling on any of
the terminals and I know there must be one or two percent water in
that mixture.

Why Canola? I have twenty gallons of it, it was salvaged from a
restaurant. It will become diesel fuel once I get motivated and do
some plumbing on a Lister clone.

It resembles this:

Six horsepower at 650 rpm. 750 pounds (340 Kg) weight/mass.
Theoretically they last forever. The original English ones ran 40K+ hours.

Another related project will be an Arduino microcontroller. I'd like
to make an automatic starter for the engine and monitor temperatures,
etc. Batteries low? Start the engine.

The canola has to be preheated close to the boiling point of water
before being injected. The idea would be to start the thing on regular
diesel, heat the veggie oil and after five minutes, switch to Canola.
At shut off time, a solenoid switches to regular diesel and runs for
five more minutes. That flushes the veggie oil out of everything,
assuring an easier startup next time.
