Alright, so the new 1.0.2 release is finally out:

Most important additions:
- Highlighting in the preview works for phrase search (i.e. search
with quotation marks)
- Improved PDF indexing
- Improved MS Excel indexing
- Search in filenames
- Wildcards at the beginning of the search string are allowed
