All of a sudden the document properties in my doc are now all grayed out.
Anyone know how to remove the gray mass so everything is still visible? I've
got Word 7. Thanks!

Make sure that the document isn't protected. But note that, in such a case,
many other options in the user interface would also be grayed out.

If you mean document properties inserted in your document, they are
inserted using fields, and you may need to change the settings in Word
Office Button->Word Options->Show Document COntent->Field Shading
