The latter is divided into 1a. tabs? for various windows, e.g, 3 Windows Explorers, 2 Microsoft Words, etc. 1b. Unoccupied areas where one can right-click to get a menu that enables showing the desktop 1c. the rightmost group of icons (called what?) for various activations 1d. the day and time-of-day 2. Windows7, which I got on a recently purchased laptop, where it took me hours to find out how to find the equivalent of WinXP Start button Best Wishes, Richard

Pressing and releasing the Windows key on your keyboard has the same effect as clicking the Start button.
