From: DCS on 7 May 2010 16:29 I am new to SBS. The old sys admin claims that the native back up app, Windows Server Backup has never worked. He claimed to have followed the development threads and ended up installing a 3rd party solution, which now no longer works. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Kurt

I have done this type of backup and restore dozens of times for numbers of clients, worked fine each time. -- You can't trust your best friends, your five senses, only the little voice inside you that most civilians don't even hear -- Listen to that. From: Russ SBITS.Biz [SBS-MVP] on 8 May 2010 13:20 Leythos is correct SBS2008 (there currently is no R2version) But the backup works great. It works so good I wish there was a way to Port it back to SBS2003 Get a dedicated 1TB or So External USB (Preferred eSATA or Firewire) Connected to your SBS2008 server Run the backup configuration and start a backup the first backup will take a while, but next ones just does changes. If being a Sys Admin is not really part of your job description. I suggest finding someone to have a quick look over on your server. Saying the Backup Doesn't work on SBS2008 May be an indication of some other issues. If the backup doesn't configure or work.
