Tides are waves with a wavelength of 12,500 miles and a period of 12 hours.
If the speed of one's boat is ~1000 mph one can stay on the crest of the
wave
and never see the sun set on the British Empire. Concorde could do that,
it's faster than any ozzie boat.
Why don't you try sitting in your coracle and use your half-a-brain to surf
the tidal wave around the Earth?
