From: AngePaton on 11 Feb 2010 04:59 I have a TOC which requires some entries in the TOC to differ from their Heading. I've figured out how to chnage the TC field code in the document, whcih then displays alternate text in the TOC. But when I update my TOC it reverts the alternate text back to the Heading text. Is there a way to lock individual TOC entries, so they won't update when you update the 'rest' of the TOC?

I'm assuming that you are using heading styles for the TOC? You will have to apply a different paragraph style to entries that you don't want included. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "AngePaton" <AngePaton(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F4E0A896-A3B9-487A-AD61-78C1545560AC(a)microsoft.com... >I have a TOC which requires some entries in the TOC to differ from their > Heading.
