From: Will on 17 Apr 2010 04:10 I am trying to find a driver for this Epson GT 10000+ SCSI scanner. The Epson site gives a download that turns out to be a network utility for it and a copy utility but as far as I can see there isn't a driver. I'm using Vuescan which works with an A4 Canon usb scanner I have, but it can't see the Epson. I can operate the Scanner on a windows box so it does work. I then put the Scsi card into my Powermac quicksilver 933mhz running Leopard connect the Scanner, turn it on then turn on the Mac but no joy. I asked in an earlier post about connecting the scsi to usb but am reposting as the topic has slightly changed. Hope that is OK.

Are you sure the Mac is seeing the SCSI card? Does it show up under System Profiler? There is a lot to learn. I checked and it looks like this pci14e4,120f: Type: Other Network Controller Driver Installed: Yes Bus: PCI Slot: SLOT-5 Vendor ID: 0x14e4 Device ID: 0x4320 Subsystem Vendor ID: 0x14e4 Subsystem ID: 0x120f Revision ID: 0x0003 So I think that that means I need a driver for the SCSI pci card. I'll start looking. Annoyingly the powermac had a pci SCSI card alredy but it is a type 3 and the scanner is a type 2, at least according to my brother who looked at it a week ago.

The card is an Adaptec 2940AU PCI SCSI card and from their site the available drivers are for Linux Driver Source Linux Driver Source Code Microsoft Microsoft DOS Microsoft Windows 2000 Microsoft Windows 3.1x Microsoft Windows 7 Microsoft Windows 95 Microsoft Windows 98 Microsoft Windows Millennium Microsoft Windows NT Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Microsoft Windows Vista Novell NetWare Novell NetWare Downloads Unix SCO Unix SCO UnixWare So maybe I need a mac supported card. Trouble is I've already bought this one and an iwill card so I don't want to buy yet another random card. I've seen a couple of cards for sale which claim to be OK on macs but they were in the hundreds of £s price range. I did google this card before buying it and it looked like it would work but it may have been influenced by wishful thinking.
