From: madman on 17 Oct 2006 22:23 I'm using exchange 2000 server and office xp Outlook. When i try to send or receive a email on this machine i receive this error. There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server. Please contact your system administrator. <myname.mydomain.com #5.5.0 smtp;552 MS-Office file containing VBA macros found inside of the email> I did not notice the problem with the older computers. Thanks
From: CorDarei on 19 Oct 2006 12:27 I have seen some people say that the sonicwall firewall vba filtering is what causes this. However, i disabled that feature and i still get the problem... but i don't know if the firewall needs to be rebooted or not. other people say it's due to a security patch that was applied to exchange, but i can't seem to track down a fix for it if that's what's causing it. madman wrote: > I'm using exchange 2000 server and office xp Outlook. > When i try to send or receive a email on this machine i receive this error. > There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server. > Please contact your system administrator. > <myname.mydomain.com #5.5.0 smtp;552 MS-Office file containing > VBA macros found inside of the email> > > I did not notice the problem with the older computers. > Thanks
From: madman on 20 Oct 2006 11:49 The way the error read i thought it was in my Exchange Box. It was my Sonicwall that was vba filtering that caused this error and i did not reboot. From: CorDarei on 23 Oct 2006 11:25 is there a place besides: Security Services --> Gateway Antivirus that you changed? that is the only place i saw that does VBA filtering, but i unchecked it and it did not resolve the problem for me.
