The "canonical" ethernet device for c64 is the "RR-NET" which is
actually a daughter card for the "Retro Replay" cartridge which is
unfortunately no longer available (you can still get the RR-NET itself
but it won't connect directly to the c64, it needs to be plugged in to
some other cartridge). There's a good page on the RR-NET showing apps
that use it at http://www.protovision-online.de/hardw/rr_net.htm

There are various stand-alone "clones" of the RR-NET, including the
64NIC+ - http://www.jbrain.com/projects/64nic/ which should still be
available for purchase, and will work with pretty much any app that
works with RR-NET

I'm awaiting 250 units (should arrive here in a few weeks) and will
place online at www.jbrain.net

END SHAMELESS PLUG

You can also get the 1541 Ultimate II (http://www.1541ultimate.net/),
that provides more than just the ethernet bit.

Two hundred and fifty units!! Wow! I'm really impressed by that number,
I hope the demand is there.

I trust we'll soon be seeing a demo of a C64 with several X-Pander3s chained
together, loaded to the gills with multiple 64NICs? ;-)
