From: Martin Sachs on 13 Jan 2007 23:07 A member of this news group stated "Hopefully that will be fixed in Vista, the only problem is, Eudora is not developed anymore to pick that up." Can anyone confirm this statement? If there will be no new development of Eudora for Vista, can we expect that existing versions (in my case, ver. 5) will run on Vista?

What is your internet connection type, by the way? Even some Microsoft programs seem to have problems detecting internet connections (some potential causes and solutions are also presented here): http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/faq/internet.mspx http://support.microsoft.com/kb/272487 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/265494 > "the only problem is, > Eudora is not developed anymore to pick that up." > Can anyone confirm this statement? That seems to be based on these announcements: http://www.eudora.com/ http://www.eudora.com/faq/ http://www.eudora.com/download/ http://www.eudora.com/press/2006/eudora-mozilla_final_10.11.06.html However, Vista specs have been available quite a while, certainly prior to this recent version. > If there will be no new development of Eudora > for Vista, can we expect that existing versions > (in my case, ver. 5) will run on Vista? Even if Eudora v5 experiences a problem, is there anything which you have in Eudora v5 which can not be obtained by using Eudora v7 (final, reported as being in actual use with Vista), even in "Sponsored" mode, in which the "Ad Window" and "Ad Toolbar" can both be suppressed? Meanwhile, has anyone been displaying Eudora's built-in Help on Vista? Or using Eudora's MAPI on Vista? Both of the above were previously reported as issues with Vista: http://eudorabb.qualcomm.com/showthread.php?t=8820 -[ ]-

Windows 2K and XP will do me for many years to come. As far as I'm Vista is nothing but bloatware and an attempt by MS to control your PC and what you do with it..
