From: Andrea Caldarone on 1 Apr 2008 10:27 Hi all, when my Exchange Server 2003 SP2 starts it logs the following error into the eventlog: Source: DCOM Category: None Type: Error User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Description: The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Launch permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {9DA0E10D-86CE-11D1-8699-00C04FB98036} to the user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM SID (S-1-5-18). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Any ideas?

Go to start run dcomcnfg Expand component services Computers My Computer Dcom Config Scroll to bottom and look for that class id. Right click properties security tab. How is it configured? the strange thing is that in dcom config I don't have a such class id, I've a similar one.... classID in the eventlog: {9DA0E10D-86CE-11D1-8699-00C04FB98036} similar in dcom config: {9DA0E0EA-86CE-11D1-8699-00C04FB98036} and this last one is MSEXCHANGEIS
