My boss loves nothing better than to have 8-10 different spreadsheets open at
one time. This makes Excel run really slow if Outlook is open, and at some
point Outlook itself will become non-responsive. I can't really tell him to
close some of the sheets. Any other options?

Add memory and check that the Anti-virus isn't causing the problem.
