From: Mindaugas on 22 Apr 2010 03:19 Hi group, I have one strange problem with our Exchange Server 2003 SP2 (on SBS 2003). User complained that she didn't get an e-mail from business partner. I've checked the Message Tracking Log and there is such information: 2010.04.20 23:17 SMTP: Message Submitted to Advanced Queuing 2010.04.20 23:17 SMTP: Started Message Submission to Advance Queue 2010.04.20 23:17 SMTP: Message Submitted to Categorizer 2010.04.20 23:17 SMTP: Message Categorized and Queued for Routing 2010.04.20 23:17 SMTP: Non-Delivery Report (NDR) Generated Other e-mails (from the same email address) which were sent earlier were delivered to user mailbox. I checked SMTP log, but I didnt find information about this (non-delivered mail) transaction. The time of this non-delivered mail falls into "backup window". Maybe there was a problem? Maybe someone had similar problem? BR, Mindaugas
From: John Oliver, Jr. [MVP] on 22 Apr 2010 13:56 It states NDR was generated, can you confirm if the Sender received it? Sounds like a typo in her smtp address, etc. caused that particular mail to be NDR'd but its hard to tell without actually seeing the NDR. -- John Oliver, Jr MCSE, MCT, CCNA Exchange MVP 2010 Microsoft Certified Partner "Mindaugas" <mindaugas(a)epoint.lt> wrote in message news:#2FA5we4KHA.4156(a)TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > Hi group, > I have one strange problem with our Exchange Server 2003 SP2 (on SBS > 2003). > > User complained that she didn't get an e-mail from business partner. > I've checked the Message Tracking Log and there is such information: > 2010.04.20 23:17 SMTP: Message Submitted to Advanced Queuing > 2010.04.20 23:17 SMTP: Started Message Submission to Advance Queue > 2010.04.20 23:17 SMTP: Message Submitted to Categorizer > 2010.04.20 23:17 SMTP: Message Categorized and Queued for Routing > 2010.04.20 23:17 SMTP: Non-Delivery Report (NDR) Generated > > Other e-mails (from the same email address) which were sent earlier were > delivered to user mailbox. > > I checked SMTP log, but I didnt find information about this > (non-delivered mail) transaction. > > The time of this non-delivered mail falls into "backup window". From: John Oliver, Jr. [MVP] on 23 Apr 2010 11:21 Is this an on going problem or just a one time occurrence? The tracking log said it generated an NDR but none was received so that could be an issue on the Senders end, example the NDR was blocked by Antispam filter or it went to his Junk Mail folder, but its hard tell without some additional troubleshooting. -- John Oliver, Jr MCSE, MCT, CCNA Exchange MVP 2010 Microsoft Certified Partner "Mindaugas" <mindaugas(a)epoint.lt> wrote in message news:ukIgjOt4KHA.980(a)TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > Hi John, > Sender nor receiver didn't get NDR report. > > BR, > Mindaugas > > "John Oliver, Jr. [MVP]" <jcoliverjr(a)hotmail.com> wrote in message > news:70A6C34A-4978-4147-87E6-8415D062C345(a)microsoft.com... >> It states NDR was generated, can you confirm if the Sender received it? >> Sounds like a typo in her smtp address, etc. caused that particular mail >> to be NDR'd but its hard to tell without actually seeing the NDR. >> >> -- >> John Oliver, Jr >> MCSE, MCT, CCNA >> Exchange MVP 2010 >> Microsoft Certified Partner >> >> >> "Mindaugas" <mindaugas(a)epoint.lt> wrote in message >> news:#2FA5we4KHA.4156(a)TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... >>> Hi group, >>> I have one strange problem with our Exchange Server 2003 SP2 (on SBS >>> 2003). >>> >>> User complained that she didn't get an e-mail from business partner. >>> I've checked the Message Tracking Log and there is such information: >>> 2010.04.20 23:17 SMTP: Message Submitted to Advanced Queuing >>> 2010.04.20 23:17 SMTP: Started Message Submission to Advance Queue >>> 2010.04.20 23:17 SMTP: Message Submitted to Categorizer >>> 2010.04.20 23:17 SMTP: Message Categorized and Queued for Routing >>> 2010.04.20 23:17 SMTP: Non-Delivery Report (NDR) Generated >>> >>> Other e-mails (from the same email address) which were sent earlier were >>> delivered to user mailbox. >>> >>> I checked SMTP log, but I didnt find information about this >>> (non-delivered mail) transaction. >>> >>> The time of this non-delivered mail falls into "backup window".
