From: Peter on 30 Mar 2010 03:56 Over the years we have used a word template with predefined textboxes that are manually filled in, in order to print a form. I have big amount of filled in word documents, from which I wishes to export the content of the textboxes to Excel. First I looked for an export function, but couldn't find one... Then I tryed to create a macro that would create a string that I could copy, but the macro recorder does not allow me to access the text boxes... Does anybody know if such an export is possible and how it can be done? Thanks Peter

Take a look at the following page of fellow MVP Graham Mayor's website: http://www.gmayor.com/ExtractDataFromForms.htm -- Hope this helps. From: Peter on 6 Apr 2010 15:14 Looked like a good reference, but I don't seem to get it to work. Would it be possible to email a copy of one of the word files? That would explain more than a lot of words. Could be interested in a qoute for solving the problem. Thanks Peter "Doug Robbins - Word MVP" wrote: > What sort of textboxes? > > Take a look at the following page of fellow MVP Graham Mayor's website: > > http://www.gmayor.com/ExtractDataFromForms.htm > > -- > Hope this helps. > > Please reply to the newsgroup unless you wish to avail yourself of my > services on a paid consulting basis. > > Doug Robbins - Word MVP, originally posted via msnews.microsoft.com > > "Peter" <Peter(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:F242E009-448B-4895-AC03-8F8803966B6C(a)microsoft.com... > > Over the years we have used a word template with predefined textboxes that > > are manually filled in, in order to print a form. > > > > I have big amount of filled in word documents, from which I wishes to > > export > > the content of the textboxes to Excel. > > > > First I looked for an export function, but couldn't find one... > > > > Then I tryed to create a macro that would create a string that I could > > copy, > > but the macro recorder does not allow me to access the text boxes... > > > > Does anybody know if such an export is possible and how it can be done? > > > > Thanks > > > > Peter >
