From: Red-Cherries on 2 Sep 2009 16:31 I have gotten this pop-up on my computer accusing my microsoft software to be counterfeit. This I know is a false accusation, my software was pre-installed by MDG. This is my product information, if you would review it. I'd like to get rid of this pop-up. From: PA Bear [MS MVP] on 2 Sep 2009 17:31 Who or what is MDG and what does your problem have to do with Windows Update? 1. Visit the following website and create a post in the "WGA Validation Problems" forum and paste the results of the WGA Diagnostic Data in a detailed post: http://social.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/threads/ 2. A WGA troubleshooting specialist will analyze the data and recommend an appropriate solution. Or just see: <QP> ....Based on your MGA Diagnostic results you have a geographically blocked PID. A "Geographically blocked PID" is a Volume License Key that is valid, but was licensed solely to a corporation or larger enterprise/business. Blocked VLK's are Product Keys that Microsoft has received consent from the original owner to block usage of. A VL Product Key is non-transferrable to individuals. In order to resolve your non-genuine licensing issue, please visit: www.microsoft.com/genuine and click on "Validate Windows". When validation fails, click on the Get Genuine button which will provide information on how to acquire a WGA Kit. </QP> Source: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/0b0a3b0f-0320-4457-9fdc-c915ef9ddf76 Red-Cherries wrote: > I have gotten this pop-up on my computer accusing my microsoft software to > be counterfeit.
