hi

i tried to get my Logitech MX1000 mouse working in Kanotix, from what i can
gather from the log (/var/log/Xorg.0.log) is thst i failed somewhere

Did you have X working with the other mouse?

Did you try with the new mouse
# Xorg -configure

buttons, wanted to see if i could use the other buttons as well on Kanotix
