I just wanted to say how much of a joy it must have been for you to do
this in your fathers memory.

Not only that, but of somehow retracing what he was thinking when he
was getting a Ph.D.

It was indeed. More like an adventure: After 22 years from getting my degrees, I
think I am able to understand some of it.

Thanks. It's a little service to the mathematical and engineering community.
Civil engineers and mathematicians in the Theory of Elasticity hopefully might
find it useful :-)
