From: support on 28 Apr 2010 15:09 Using Fax Services in SBS 2003 with Outlook 2007. Fax Mail Transport added as account in Outlook. When attempting to send a fax direclty from Outlook (no attachments) an undeliverable message is returned: "The Microsoft Fax transport failed to deliver the message to the recipient. The exchange message data cannot be accessed." Thought it was related to Exchange profile so tested with SMTP configured for email account and tested with just Fax Mail Transport in account list. Same result for all three combinations. Faxing directly from Fax Console is successful. Any ideas? -- support(a)liaisonsc.com http://forums.slipstick.com
From: Russ Valentine on 28 Apr 2010 17:17 How and in what format is the fax message being created? Now that fax integration with Outlook has been deprecated and is no longer supported, faxing from the Fax Console is almost always the better option. The only reason any fax integration at all still exists is that it was easier for the developers to leave the legacy code in place than to remove it from the newer versions that no longer support it. -- Russ Valentine "support(a)liaisonsc.com" <supportliaisonsc.com.4a57mm(a)invalid> wrote in message news:supportliaisonsc.com.4a57mm(a)invalid... > > Using Fax Services in SBS 2003 with Outlook 2007. That's the format for programmatic faxing. Try entering the fax number in canonical format or use the Fax Console instead. -- Russ Valentine "support(a)liaisonsc.com" <supportliaisonsc.com.4a8qha(a)invalid> wrote in message news:supportliaisonsc.com.4a8qha(a)invalid... > > The fax is sent from Outlook as a plain text message with a To: address > format of [FAX:name(a)fax_number] w/no attachments > > Russ Valentine;143000 Wrote: >> How and in what format is the fax message being created? >> Now that fax integration with Outlook has been deprecated and is no >> longer >> supported, faxing from the Fax Console is almost always the better >> option. >> The only reason any fax integration at all still exists is that it was >> easier for the developers to leave the legacy code in place than to >> remove >> it from the newer versions that no longer support it. >> -- >> Russ Valentine >> "support(a)liaisonsc.com" <supportliaisonsc.com.4a57mm(a)invalid> wrote in >> message news:supportliaisonsc.com.4a57mm(a)invalid... >> > >> > Using Fax Services in SBS 2003 with Outlook 2007.
