I don't use them much any more, but they are handy if you read a lot of
news sites to see what all the articles are and decide if you want to
read them.

Thanks, I'll take a look at those. Instapaper seems highly regarded but
I'd not heard of Osfoora.

I've got Twitter app on an iPhone but it's not been updated for the
bigger iPad screen. I use Tweetie on the Mac which I like a lot.

I'm just dabbling with the iPad since I've had various laptop changes
and restores from Time Machine in the last fortnight. The new laptop is
a 15" which feels like a bit of a tea tray compared to a 13" MacBook and
the iPad is an even bigger (well smaller) contrast.

I use NewsFire to follow a load of sites - sorted into categories like
digital filmmaking, video editing, audio, Mac stuff etc. I've got about
a hundred feeds so I'd be unlikely to see what the various blogs and
sites have updated otherwise.

For me, feeds were a solution looking for a problem. But other people
seem to find them useful.
