The file extensions are not showing in my PSP 9 when I use the FILE -
OPEN function.

Is there a setting that lets the extension show? If so, where is it?

Thanks for any assistance.

To show or not to show extensions is a Win filer setting.

Control Panel
Folder Options
View Tab
Untick "Hide extensions for known filetypes"

And while you are there, you might as well Tick "Show hidden files,
folders or drives."

Yes, Dave, that fixes it. I'm very grateful!

But may I ask - why do you suggest I also Tick "Show hidden files,
folders or drives?" What is the advantage there?

I guess, if as you say you are not overly computerate, then you needn't
bother, however for those of us who like to meddle, having system etc
files hidden by default is an annoyance that we immediately reconfigure
after a Win install.

I just thought, while you were there, do it, then you wouldn't have to
remember where to go at a later date if you should need to see any hidden
sys files.

'Tiz not important.

Thank you for the explanation.
