Say we have a huge amount of warnings or errors of a particular kind, say they all have the same enent ID. Now suppose that these are some logs that even Microsoft says they can be ignored so basically you're ending up with a log full of events that you have no interest in and trying to spot those that are important. On such occasion it would be great if you could filter out all of those you can ignore so you have a clear view of these you need to take care of. yaro

There is no facility to suppress particular event numbers. Perhaps Windows Server 2008 has more advanced facilities - if so then you should state that you use Server 2008 in order to attract version-specific comments.

I don't remember seeing such option in 2008 although I still think it would be quite useful. Thanks yaro
