Hello
I am using bandpass butter worth filter for my earthquake signal.
Does this filtering operation introduce any additional phases into the filtered signal?.
If so how do I remove them.

The phase shift can be avoided by using FILTFILT. It was discussed here before, how this double filtering changes the replied amplitudes. Just search this newsgroup.
