From: Fred Moore on 3 Feb 2010 20:56 My friend, Stan, asked for help with FCE. I don't use it, but thought someone here might be willing to help. Here are the emails he has sent me. 'Would you like to be involved with the recovery of a few Final Cut Express documents that I lost touch with after an AppZapp session? I AppZapped 1.8.0 a corrupted Final Cut Express 2.0.3 app and reinstalled FCE w/ updates on OS 10.4.11. Previous FCE projects still show as icons and iDVD can still access project files but reinstalled FCE 2.0.3 can't open the files, "Unable to read file. It appears to have been corrupted."' [Then I asked him if he could give more details.] 'FCE was opening to a black screen and I could only see FCE project files briefly during a mouse click but could not select before screen returned to black. Then I AppZapped FCE in preparation for the reinstall to FE 2.0.3 and discovered that I could no longer open my previous projects. FCE runs fine on new projects. It feels like I AppZapped an address that referenced the projects. The capture, scratch, rendered, sequence files are there but are not recognized as the total project that it once was. Confusing enough? I've heard of an incompatibility between OS 10.4.11, QuickTime 7.6.4 and FCE 2.0.3. All of my previous FCE projects will not open, although I was only working on one particular project at the time. I suspect that I misused AppZapper in my haste and made much waste.' Thanks very much in advance for any help you can provide Stan.
