hello,

in Firefox (all versions) i often find that i cannot use the Tab key
to shift the focus onto a standard <select> list, most commonly a
States list in a checkout form.

i have read there was some particular reason for this, and a solution.
i even think i made some changes in my System Prefs to fix it. and
yet...often i cannot tab to a <select> list.

does anybody know why?

Not a clue. But have you tried pressing the up and down arrow keys? ; )

if your browser's focus is in a text input, pressing the up/down key
will not transfer the focus to the previous/next form element. only
tab and shift-tab will do that..

Check System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard
Shortcuts. Change the option for "Full Keyboard Access"
to "All Controls".

I'm on OS X 10.6.2 and Firefox 3.6.
