Me again

If I link a fw 400 HD to a fw 800 HD then connect to the 800 fw on the
Mac. Will the 400 slow the 800 down, or will I get full 800.

You'll get 800 from the 800 HD, and 400 from the 400 HD. If you connect
them the other way around (you physically can't in this case, but
assuming you get a 4-8 adaptor) you'll get 400 from both.
