From: Ron on 22 Apr 2010 18:28 Haven't fully tried this, but ran across it in another group... Flash Drive Manager is a free tool from Microsoft that provides a fair amount of flexibility using flash drives. From Microsoft: "The Microsoft USB Flash Drive Manager will help you backup and restore presentation, pictures, songs and applications from and to USB Flash Drive devices and take them with you. The application can also help you to classify and name USB Flash Drives images (for instance "My network configuration" or "The pictures for my grandma") and lets you see this name whenever the USB Flash Drive is plugged into the computer. Microsoft USB Flash Drive Manager is available for Windows XP only." It requires .NET 1.1 as well. Download page: (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=94991901-bfc4-485e-bcae-c9df0accdaae&displaylang=en) Good explanation for using: (http://www.worldstart.com/tips/tips.php /3739) Installed OK on a XP Pro test bed. Software recognized a 16Gb drive and let me change the drive label, do so backup and restoring, etc. No complaints, ymmv. Ron Moore
